The Tamiya Euro Truck class offers fun, competitive racing at probably the lowest price point of the classes we race at CRMCC. Brand new kits can be picked up at pretty much any model shop at around £120, and many second hand kits can be found on eBay or Facebook.

The class is based around the simple yet effective TT-01E chassis, which is a shaft-driven 4wd drive platform. To keep things simple, competitive, and cheap, this class is subject to tight rules which limit the amount of upgrades that can be made. The motors in the truck class are the Tamiya Torque Tuned brushed motors which come in the kit, and a cheap ESC such as the one included in the kit or a Hobbywing Quicrun 1060 (around £23) will be absolutely fine.

Upgrades that are worth getting include a set of bearings to replace the plastic bushings that come stock in the kit; these are available at most places that sell the Tamiya kits and cost around £10 - £20. Oil filled shocks are also worth looking at if you have the budget, as the kit comes with friction dampers which can lead to some difficult handling.

The Truck class has been one of the fastest growing at CRMCC in the last couple of years and we're expecting a great turnout for 2026! Due to the tightly controlled formula, this class leads to some of the closest racing we've seen at the club and they look great on track!
